Our History
Klobucar Construction Co., Inc., is a family owned and operated general building contractor that specializes in industrial, commercial, and institutional construction. Klobucar Construction was incorporated in 1966 by Fred and Barbara Klobucar. Jim and Jerry Klobucar are the 2nd generation owners of the firm.
Klobucar works in both the public and private sectors, but private, negotiated contracts constitute most of our projects. The majority of Klobucars work is completed within a 150-mile radius of Beloit using union carpenters.
Klobucar is unique in southern Wisconsin. Its Economic Development Program can assemble customized packages for new company start-ups or for businesses considering relocation to the area. In addition, Klobucar can help with government economic assistance and serve as a liaison with The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.

I would like to take this opportunity to write this letter of support on behalf of Mr. Jerry Klobucar and Klobucar Construction. The School District of Beloit Turner was fortunate to pass a facility referendum that entailed multiple projects throughout our middle/high school complex and Powers Elementary School.
Over the course of the past year and a half I have had the opportunity to work with and observe Jerry’s work as the construction manager of this complex project. Knowing that Jerry and his crew were constantly in communication and there to ensure the success of these projects were integral in assuring our Board, our community and most certainly me that Klobucar Construction was the right choice for our job.

Jerry is fair, honest and a pleasure to work with. There are always glitches in projects like this (many of which are not predictable), but because of Jerry and his crew we could count on the best solution at all times. He always worked with the contractors to assure that our needs were met 100 percent of the time. The timeline for this project given the scope of the work was incredibly tight, but Jerry’s advanced planning and leadership assured that we were able to meet our deadline. It was a pleasure to have worked with Jerry and Klobucar Construction on our project.

I am pleased to highly recommend Klobucar Construction. I have worked with Jerry Klobucar and his team for five years on various projects of many sizes that were all very satisfactory but I am going to highlight three recent completed projects. These three successful projects were completed last summer including the Aldrich kitchen and security renovation project and high school secure entrance renovation.
Klobucar Construction’s perfomance during our last project at Beloit Memorial High School and Aldrich Intermediate Schools is to be commended. The fast pace and quality of the project was very apparent. Throughout the construction process, Jerry coordinated most aspects of the project because we no longer had a full-time facility director. Jerry allowed me to stay involved and to witness the transformation of the project first hand but took the lead on project management and oversight for a successful culmination. We have been very impressed with the sense of pride and commitment of all of the Klobucar Construction staff every time we visit the site or contact their office.

Jerry does an excellent job in communicating with the District and in collaborating with other staff members. Jerry monitors strict deadlines and provides good oversight. He has high expectations, is creative in solutions, submits fair bid proposals with limited change orders and does a good job of staying within budget. Jerry works independently to follow through to ensure that the job gets done well. The beginning of these projects was met with many challenges with timing and scope. However, Jerry’s efforts coordinating the site personnel and maintaining the aggressive schedule has not gone unnoticed. These efforts are evident in the fact that all three renovation projects were delivered with ample time for us to move in and get comfortable prior to the new school year.
Just as we are committed to quality education for our students, it is apparent that Klobucar is committed to the same quality in their work and try value client satisfaction. We look forward to the years ahead in our updated facilities and we would not hesitate working together on future projects. In fact, Klobucar Construction was just awarded our Beloit Memorial High School auditorium remodel project to kickoff in mid June in the amount of $940,000.

Dear Jerry,
I wanted to drop you a note and thank you for the outstanding work your company has done for the School District of Beloit. We have been more than pleased with the relationship we have had together, the quality of work, the workers from your company and how they conducted themselves during all of the projects and your attention to detail. Thank you for your hard work in getting the jobs done right and done on time. Your company finished Todd and Converse ahead of schedule which is rarely done on any project. In fact with Todd Elementary in session, Klobucar finished almost a month ahead of schedule which made a tremendous difference to the staff and administration there.

This kind of integrity really is a compliment to your company and the people that run it. Dear Members,
Building and remodeling a church for a well-established congregation is one of the most challenging projects for any architect or contractor. Taking on this challenge fo your own congregation makes it all the more delicate. Such was the case when Klobucar Construction accepted the project for Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Beloit, WI.
The Catholic community had been worshiping in a “temporary” church for 50 years. Regardless, it had become our regular place of worship, where the community gathered for prayer, children were baptized, couples were married and long-time members were remembered at their death. Temporary or not, it was our church. And it had become too small.
OLA also had a strong and established elementary school as a part of the building complex that also needed attention.

Facing this challenge, Klobucar Construction readily entered into dialogue with Angus-Young and Associates (architects) and the parish staff and committees. There were unique challenges to the project, among them:
- We were under time constraints for the school addition to be completed through the summer vacation.
- We could not disrupt our regular weekend Masses.
- We were building the new church directly adjacent to the old church, with the old church being remodeled into a gathering space/entrance area, chapel and music room.
- We needed a full basement for the parish hall, creating significant underpinning challenges because of the connection to the current buildings.
- As is always the case working with committee structures, there were many ideas and demands and expectations not usually associated with construction of this magnitude.
Throughout the two years of pre-construction services, Klobucar provided and during construction, I am happy to say that these challenges were met above and beyond expectation. They worked closely with our committee structures to build a place of worship that is functional, liturgically up-to-date, and beautiful. They did this on schedule, in bidget, and with little unexpected change orders. The entire Klobucar crew was knowledgeable, well-prepared, answered questions and responded to our needs entirely.

Klobucar Construction has a long and positive history of first class perfomance and customer service with Regal Beloit. Klobucar Construction has earned the trust of Regal based on a proven track record of quality on time performance in the construction of Regal’s Corporate offices at 200 State St. in downtown Beloit. Additionally Klobucar successfully completed the 2007 building addition which doubled office space and included the creation of the Packard Learning Center which has been the site of training and education to over 100,000 Regal employee’s since 2007. There have also been additional building renovations awarded to Klobucar without a competitive bid process. We involved Klobucar in the design and scope review process because of their experience and knowledge of what is important to Regal.

Cedar Crest Retirement Living is a Continuing Care Retirement Community located in Janesville, Wisconsin. We provide a continuum of living services for people 55 plus including independent living on condos and apartments, assisted living studios and skilled nursing care.
Cedar Crest, Inc. has been involved with Klobucar Construction for over three years. During that time, Klobucar has done extensive renovating and remodeling of our independent living apartments. They also gutted an 8000 sq. ft. area and created a multi-purpose recreational area for our independent living resident. Currently, they are constructing a 12 bed Memory Care Unit located within our skilled nursing home. In total, Klobucar has provided over 2 million dollars of contracted construction services to Cedar Crest, Inc.
